Hey everyone, Adrian here. This blog focuses on two important updates for the film: the photo of Marcos and Matheus, and the mannequin that was recently purchased.
First, the photo. The picture of Marcos and Matheus standing in front of the red Mustang is officially locked in and will play a key role in the story. This image will appear in the garage scene, where Adrian discovers it while robbing the house. That moment is when everything clicks. Adrian realizes the Mustang belonged to Matheus’s brother, not just some random target. That discovery is what causes Adrian to dip immediately, confirming that the entire job was personal and never really about money. The next step with this photo is getting it printed professionally through CVS with a glossy finish so it feels real and grounded on screen.

Now onto the mannequin. This was a pretty expensive purchase, but it has a strong purpose in the film. The mannequin will be used to display Adrian’s full costume inside the house, turning it into more than just clothing. It represents identity, power, and control. The mannequin stands over six feet tall, tall as hell honestly, which helps give it a dominant and intimidating presence in the scene. Seeing the costume fully assembled and displayed like that adds authority to the character and reinforces how calculated everything is. Below attached is before the assembly.

Along with this, a I’ve published a short teaser in this blog. It appears as a lost tape recorded by Levi, documenting the construction of the costume. The footage used for the lost tape was actually recorded using a really bad drone camera with some of the worst quality I’ve seen. Originally, the plan was to use the drone for an aerial shot of the getaway car arriving at the target house. After testing the camera, it felt way too cheap and out of place, so that idea was cut. The footage is intentionally degraded and distorted, styled like an old VHS recording, making it feel archived and unsettling. It adds depth to the Blackout lore and hints that the suit carries history and purpose beyond just being gear. Make sure to turn the caption on when watching it!
Both of these props might seem small on their own, but together they push the story forward in major ways. They help reveal the truth without needing extra dialogue, which is exactly what we want with such a tight five minute runtime.
