#41 Research/Planning – The Script Is Officially Finished

Hey everyone, Adrian here. This is a big one.

After days of planning, cutting, rewriting, and second guessing everything, the final script for Blackout is officially done. This is the first time I can confidently say that the story, pacing, and character arcs finally feel locked in and mature enough to work inside a five minute runtime.

To give you guys a small sneak peek, I’ve attached a snippet from one of my favorite moments in the script. This scene takes place right after Matheus stares into the mask and gets hit with a flashback. When we cut back to the present, you can immediately feel the shift in him. He’s tense, short fused, and visibly losing control.

Instead of exploding on Adrian or Tati, he turns his anger toward Levi.

Matheus snaps at Levi in German, telling him to shut up, and it’s aggressive on purpose. Levi barely even has lines in this film, but moments like this tell you everything you need to know about the power dynamic. Levi isn’t just a “lab rat” character for fun. He’s someone who’s constantly under pressure, fear, and control, and Matheus taking his anger out on him shows how unstable he’s become since the loss of his brother.

Right after that, Matheus shifts back into business mode. He looks at Adrian and Tati and says they’re the only ones he trusts to do the job. On the surface, it feels like trust. In reality, it’s manipulation. He hands Adrian the money, promises the details, and sends them off, all while knowing the job was never about the car or the cash.

This scene is important because it quietly sets up everything that comes later without spelling it out for the audience. The tension, the guilt, and the consequences are already there. You just don’t fully realize it yet.

At this point, the script is done, next big thing is filming, and everything finally feels real. More updates very soon.
