Hey everyone, Adrian here. Today and yesterday were productive days, just not in the way the schedule originally planned. A lot moved forward, even if not everything landed exactly on time, and that’s something I want to be transparent about.
So far, the pre production image has officially gone live, and the cast reaction featuring Matheus was recorded. However, after reviewing it, we decided not to move forward with that version. It felt rushed and didn’t come off as natural, which goes against the whole point of showing genuine reactions. Instead of forcing it, we’re redoing the cast reaction properly tomorrow during the production of Archive 02 so it feels more authentic and grounded.
Although Archive 02 was originally meant to drop alongside the cast portrait series, we weren’t able to hit that timing. Rather than rushing unfinished work just to meet a date, we shifted focus to what we could complete at a high level. One of those things was the wrist blade showcase, which is now fully finished, polished, and uploaded. That piece is officially locked in.
The wrist blade itself plays a bigger role than just being a prop. There are two versions that appear in the film. The prototype version is introduced early on during the German lab rat scene, sitting on the desk to establish what project is being worked on and to visually ground the audience in that world. The final version appears at the end of the film when Matheus, bleeding out, attempts to go in for a final kill on Adrian. Showing both versions helps reinforce progression without needing dialogue to explain it.
Alongside that, the final revised storyboard is now complete. Compared to the version from almost two months ago, this one is significantly tighter and far more realistic. The biggest improvement is scale. The old plan was way too ambitious for a five minute runtime and honestly wasn’t going to work. After weeks of trimming, rethinking scenes, and restructuring the story, this version finally feels locked. The opening now takes place at Matheus’s house, while the target house remains my house, which helps the narrative flow feel more intentional from the start.
Looking ahead, tomorrow we plan to complete Archive 02, which already has its mini script finished. We’ll also be redoing the cast reaction properly at the same time. Wednesday is set as a catch up day to polish footage and prep uploads. Thursday will be focused on tightening the archive episodes, with the goal of completing Archive 03, which is the bodycam style segment. That one is still experimental, so we’ll see how it plays out day of.
This blog also includes new location images for concept purposes. There’s a first look at Matheus’s garage, which will be used for the German lab rat scene, along with locations for where Bodyguard 1 and Bodyguard 2 will stand, and the arrival shot of Adrian and Tati at the target house. These aren’t every location in the film, just key ones that help visualize how everything is coming together.
More updates soon. We’re moving carefully, not recklessly, and that’s intentional.
