#40 Research/Planning – Updated Production Plan and Final Lock-In

Hey everyone, Adrian here. As we get closer to production officially starting this month, I wanted to put out a full updated plan for this week and the following one. A lot has changed since earlier planning stages, so I went ahead and made a clean, updated schedule on Canva just to lock everything in and avoid confusion moving forward.

Starting with the biggest change, we originally planned four filming days, but after trimming scenes and cutting a lot of ideas that didn’t fit the five minute limit, we managed to bring that down to only two filming days. This makes the production way tighter and more realistic. Less filler, more focus.

The cast meeting that was supposed to happen yesterday didn’t end up happening, but everyone is fully up to date with what’s going on, so nothing was lost there.

This week is packed with content updates. Starting tomorrow, I’ll be posting photos of Marcos and Matheus with the Mustang, which plays a big role in the film. After that, I’ll be doing a full showcase of the updated final costume. There have been some noticeable changes since the early costume reveal from a while back, so I want to properly show everything this time.

Along with the costume, I’ll also be showcasing some of the props being used in the film. One of them is a prop wrist blade weapon that shoots out with a flick of the finger. Very Assassin’s Creed inspired, and it plays a major role later in the story.

The day after that, I’ll be handing out the finalized scripts to the cast, with each person’s lines highlighted. They’ll get the scripts two days before filming, which gives them enough time to read through everything and understand their character. I’ll also be capturing their first reactions to the script.

Now for the filming dates. These have officially changed. We were originally planning on filming on the 17th and 18th, and then again on the 24th and 25th. That has now been trimmed down to ONLY the 16th and 17th. The 18th is being kept as an emergency backup day, but it is not locked in as a filming day.

On the 16th, we’ll be filming the first portion of the film, which includes myself, Tati, Matheus, Levi, and our cameraman Enmanuel. I also want to include JJ on this day strictly for behind the scenes content.

The following day, the 17th, will include Adrian, Tati, Matheus, Diego as Bodyguard #1, Cesar as Bodyguard #2, and JJ as the cop. William will also be tagging along again for BTS content.

One more important thing I want to add is that a documentary style behind-the-scenes project is officially being planned to cover the entire production process of this film. This isn’t just random BTS clips. The goal is to document everything from early planning, script development, costume creation, filming days, cast reactions, mistakes, adjustments, and final wrap-up. I want people to be able to see how much work actually goes into a five minute short film and how chaotic, stressful, and rewarding the process really is. This documentary style BTS will be released after production and will serve as a full breakdown of how Blackout was made from start to finish. After that the main focus will be on the social media and the film festival postcard.

Everything is finally starting to feel locked in. Planning is nearly done, the script is close to final, and production is officially right around the corner. More updates coming very soon.
